Numbers- How many people are coming from your country.WASPs want small numbers of people so they do not lose powerCould move away from the rest of your people.3. Location- If you all settle in the same place it looks like there are more of you.- Immigrants want the opposite of what WASPs want4. Stereotypes- WASPs are gossiping assholes.-----Irish stereotypes set up by the English are bad-------First Wave Immigration (1830-1880)- Irish, Chinese, GermanHave some things in common –money-land-freedomPull Factors- Proto Industrial RevolutionMaking things for the first time unskilledStarted breaking up jobsEx. To make a dress you have to buy fabric, have someone to sew the arm.Stuff is being made fast and cheap.Unskilled workers are needed and people went to other countries to recruit for new jobs.Freed slave competes with immigrants for these jobs.Cities- New York & Boston (Chinese?
