CLIP 4 THE FILM LAB ANATOMY OF A FILM SET PART 4 Specialists in many cases the 1st AD has much more experience working on film set than a director therefore they are often the ones to oversee things when needed If a film requires an animal an animal wrangler is hired to train them If there is fire or some special effect in a film the 1st AD double checks with the Special Effects Coordinator SFX Coordinator to make sure they are performed safely and efficiently He usually has a team of Special Effects SFX technicians that actually perform the effects and helps the actors If an effect could hurt someone the 1st AD gets a stunt coordinator If it was very dangerous the stunt coordinator will bring in stunt performers A producer is also used for photography he hires a stills photographer that directs the shooting capturing any single snapshots that might make the film appealing to potential distributers and essentially moviegoers When shooting the production department hires a script supervisor for specific details Finally the craft service personnel who feed the people
