Changes in broadcasting regulations PTAR Fin Syn We begin to limit the ability of TV stations to create all of their own programming we wanted to limit the power they had over program production Two key things got created The Prime Time Access Rule which said local stations couldn t use any network feed during the first hour priming time depending on where you were 7 8 or 6 7 It had to be local programming or syndicated which is to say it could be created by somebody else You could buy it or at least rent it from somebody else but it couldn t be from networks The idea was to generally create local programming localism or to create something that at least came from a source other than the networks Television History 2 Radio carries on a bit The genres institutions continue to affect tv in the late 50 s We also see old shows and plots from the 40s and We see TV change when it comes into the internet 50s show up era How do the genres change when we have these growing in technologies
