Skin Color Monitor Progress Report # 10, November 15, 2007 Client: Prof. John Webster Team: Jack Ho (Leader) Patrick Kurkiewicz (Communications) Joseph Yeun (BWIG) Brian Ginter (BSAC) November 9 to November 15, 2007 Problem Statement Develop a miniature electronic device that records change in skin color during hot flashes. Last Weeks Goals • Acquire acrylic type material to machine for possible future prototype • Create an improved casing • Continue testing Summary of Accomplishments Due to the arrival of the second wave of midterms, it was difficult to get together much this week. However, we managed to get together Wednesday night for a short while and refined our device a bit and painted it black. While we didn’t get to test the device we painted that night due to it having to drying, we used a black marker on another one of our devices and it vastly improved our readings. It widened the difference of output voltage between different colors much better. While we’ll still be working with our current soft plastic devices and testing them, we have ordered some acrylic and polycarbonate, which will be used in fabricating our final prototype, which we hope will be more consistent with our PDS.
