Biological Imaging Chamber Client: Lance Rodenkirch Team: Justin Lundell (Leader) Val Maharaj (Co-leader) Jeremy Schaefer (Comm.) Andrew Dias (BWIG) Michael Socie (BSAC) November 2 to November 8, 2007 Problem Statement In order to control the environment while using laser-based confocal and multiphoton imaging of live cells, an imaging chamber must be developed to be temperature and environmentally correct with perfusion options. Last Week’s Goals *Understand last semester’s feedback circuit. *Meet with Prof. Webster on Friday to have him evaluate our circuit and component choices. *Have a final list of components for Lance to order by Wednesday next week. Summary of Accomplishments *We met with Professor Webster, and he gave us a lot of insight about our circuit. He also told us of a couple methods of simplifying the circuit to better fit our needs. *Made a list of parts that we would need to buy This Week’s Goals *Meet with Lance and have him go over our parts list *Order Parts *Start working on final paper and/or poster board. Difficulties We were originally thinking to meet with our client this past Wednesday, but then we received an email from him at the last second that he would be out of town until Friday. It’s tough to meet with him Friday’s because he usually leaves the lab early, and all of us have class before the BME Lecture. We also know that our client will be out of town either the week before or the week after Thanksgiving. However, he said that we would still be able to get the parts if they do come in during that time. We have had some difficulty picking parts that we think would be compatible with each other, but the difficulty has been resolved.Activities 11-02 Team Meeting with Professor Webster 0.50 hr 11-02 Team Circuit/Part Research 2.00 hr 11-05 Team Circuit/Part Research 1.25 hr 11-7 Val Progress report 0.50 hr Project Timeline Week ending: September October November December Task 14 21 28 5 12 19 28 2 9 16 23 30 7 14 Product Development Background Research Brainstorm Decision matrix Final Design Prototype Testing Deliverables (due) PDS Reports 12 Presentations
