Skin Color Monitor Progress Report # 12, November 29, 2007 Client: Prof. John Webster Team: Jack Ho (Leader) Patrick Kurkiewicz (Communications) Joseph Yeun (BWIG) Brian Ginter (BSAC) November 23 to November 29, 2007 Problem Statement Develop a miniature electronic device that records change in skin color during hot flashes. Last Weeks Goals • Fabricate devices • Look into getting a chip printed and getting a battery connection. • Meet with client Summary of Accomplishments We received the acrylic and polycarbonate material Tuesday this week and got started in fabricating some devices. We made one device out of acrylic and just need to paint the inside black before we can test it. We also cut a few pieces of polycarbonate and started milling out those pieces. Once we get the first device ready, we’ll being testing. We haven’t made a final choice in which material to go with in our final design, but at this point the acrylic seems to lighter and weight is something that is important to our design. Once we’ve taken some good data, we’ll be able to work on the poster and final report. From our previous tests, we should be able to get usable readings from our circuit, but adjustments may be needed, so we’re trying to fabricate the devices as quickly as possible.
