Team Goals:Title: Device for acute rehabilitation of the paretic hand after strokeTeam: Sasha Cai Lesher-Pérez (Leader)Carly Brown (Communicator)Lee Linstroth (BSAC)Nathan Kleinhans (BWIG)Date: February 22 – February 28, 2008Project Design Statement: Design a portable automated device that will facilitate hand rehabilitation in the acute phase (first three months) after stroke within a clinical setting; focus of rehabilitation will be supination/pronation movements of the wrist and gross flexion/extension of the fingers. Both active and passive movements will be focused on forrehabilitation, and the device should be able to simultaneously or independently assist rehabilitation of the two degrees of motion. Team Goals:- Install limiting switches into track system- Present design of script of clinician/patient testing to client- Continue working on microprocessor programming- Work with designer (Martin Gutierrez) to make prototype more aesthetically pleasing- Finish game interface- Finish physical hardware- Meet with client (Feb 29)Individual Goals:- Carly: Work on Scripting, Maintain communication with Michelle- Lee: Work on finish hand-grasper, work on scripts for clinician/patient testing-meetings, assist in programming for game interface- Nathan: Re-modeling of design, programming for game interface- Sasha Cai: Working on microprocessor programming, re-modeling of design, continue correspondence with Martin, finish limiting switch design, design summaries of communication (Microprocessor-PC-Motor loops), Summary of Accomplishments:1) Finished script2) Created limiting switch system design, finalized track construction3) Met with Martin, received further design optionsDifficulties:Do not yet have the motor, IRB is not yet done being processed, can’t continue programming until motor arrives, Activities: Sasha Cai and Nathan 02/22/08 1 hourMet with Martin and covered different options for design as well as hand-grasper remodeling in plasticTeam Meeting 02/25/08 1 hourDiscussed Script, design options and progress, and continuation of semester’swork.Sasha Cai 02/27/08 2 hoursFinished construction of track system for limiting switch incorporationSasha Cai 02/27/08 .5 hoursSpoke to Martin about aesthetic
