Hector, The Ultimate WarriorExecutive SummaryAbstract of Game StoryGame Play and AppearanceDevelopment SpecificationHector, The Ultimate Warrior is developed using DirectX 8.1 SDK in Visual C++ 6.0.This game includes a menu screen, and two levels full of action. Most of the graphics and sounds will that are included in the game are from my own creation and from external sources such as online material and from the LaMothe CD. My estimated implementation time is about 5 weeks.Product SpecificationProduction Team DescriptionTarget AudienceGame PlayThe game play is observed from a side view of the main character, Hector, who starts off by killing different aliens and progressing trough the game. Some aliens are harder to kill than others. The challenging part of the game is to try to stay alive while killing as many aliens as possible. As Hector gets hit by his enemies, his health goes down until it reaches zero. When that happens, the game is over and the player is redirected to the main menu, where the player can either choose to play again or to quit. There are a few health packets that Hector can pick up to regenerate his health. These health packets are intended to help the player and appear sometimes after killing a more deadly enemy. Each level has different enemies and different settings, making the game more fun and less redundant. To beat the level, the player has to kill all enemies and move to the end of the level. After completing the first level, the player will advance to the second level where the player will go trough the same strategy by killing the enemies and arriving at the end of the level. Towards each level’s end, the player will encounter an enemy that is harder to beat, which after beating him, the player finds a full regeneration health pack that will prepare the player for the next level.Production ToolsGame SpecificationWhat is it Like to Play the GameInterface MockupSummary of Story LineCharacter BiblesFlowchartingStoryboard:As the game is launched, a main screen will appear. On this menu screen there will be a list of 4 items, of which the player can select. The Help menu item will take you to a short introduction to the game and to the story and also will describe how the game is played. Next two items on the main menu are Airport and Downtown. By selecting either one of them, the player will start playing that level. There is no requirement to beat one level to go to the next one. Another menu item is exit. By selecting this item, the game quits and returns to the windows environment. After entering the level, the action starts automatically and the player has to control the character and go forwards while killing all aliens until end of level.Level OutlineHector, The Ultimate WarriorBy Lucian BlebeaCIS 487Executive SummaryAbstract of Game Story“Hector, The Ultimate Warrior“ is a side scrolling action game. This 2D game is centered on a hero Hector, who is the only person who can save his city from a group of aliens thattook over his hometown, Copper City. The player will control this hero to combat all aliens and regain control of Copper City. There are two major sections of the city where the aliens landed and took over. The Airport is heavily invaded by aliens and all efforts ofcivilians and the military have not been successful to kill the aliens and to regain control. Another area where the aliens landed is in Downtown. The aliens have scared all the citizens away from Downtown and have taken over. The game has two levels. One called “Airport” and the other one called “Downtown”. The player has to beat both levels to beat the game. Game Play and AppearanceThe game will run full screen, first having a menu to let the player start the game after which the screen will be filled with the setting background, the hero and the enemies that appear and attach the hero. The camera of the game shows the side-view of the action, going from left to right. The hero can walk, jump, shoot, and beat up the enemy aliens. In the top right corner the player can see the hero’s health, and the number of aliens remaining to kill. The goal of this game is to kill all aliens and not to just advance to theend of the level. In the first level, the enemies will be easier to beat and becoming harder and harder as the level progresses. It is very entertaining and does not include any content that would restrict some people from playing it. It is a pretty small fun 2D gamethat does not require any special hardware performance to play it and it can be played many times, especially to relax somebody and take their mind off of work or school.
