Not only were there problems with trade, there is also the problem of Impressment from England. Taking people by force from American ships with the idea of desertion. Peaceable Coercion; fight against European Impressment and Trade embargo with their own Embargo against European trade. Shut down all American Trade with the outside world. It doesn’t accomplish its objective, in 1809, James Maddison – Nonintercourse Policy, reopened trade with everyone except France and England. Nathans Bill #2, trade is reopened with France and England; if Brittan or France responded with no more interference then they would suspend trade with the other side. Doesn’t work out so delectation of war against England and France.Small Navy and Army, military disaster, lose most of the fights – only battle won was after the War was ended with peaceful negotiations.
