There is deeper meaning to these secret wishes and desires that come to light during a dream. ii. Activation synthesis – Brain randomly fires all the time. While we are awake there are less random firings, but when we are sleeping they are more prevalent. We ward them off during the day so that at night the brain uses these random firings and turns them into a story. iii. Why do we dream about so many scary things? Evolved through rehearsal. In case something bad happens our minds want us to be ready. iv. Problem solving model – instead of just consolidating, you are also solving. V. Psychoactive Drugsa. Stimulants – fire you up. i.
