They were persecuted to the point of executionColony of PennsylvaniaWilliam Penn - Was a Quaker. His father didn't like that he was. William Penn names his colony Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is intended to be a safe place for the Quakers. The laws that were put in place are very important from a legal standpoint. Colony of New YorkJames, Duke of York - was interested in direct trade with Africa and North America. The Dutch were getting in the way of his business dealings with both of these places and he was not happy. The English are eventually able to take these lands from the Dutch. This Colony was name after the Duke of York "New York". New York was Established in 1664.Colony of New Jersey-Established in 1702. The next 3 colonies were originally 1 colony. The Colony was named after King Charles (His Latin name Carolinas). This is where we get the colony, Carolina. In 1729 the Carolina Colony was divided into 2 colonies - North and South.These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. The intention for this colonies was for debtors to go and start a new life. This colony is overseen by a board of trustees. Slavery is not allowed in this colony. This last colony was named Georgia. Essay question 2: talk about the number of people who came over, died, etc. The principal agricultural development that started in Virginia was tobacco. 9. Mention the Creation of the House of Purchases. 10. Talk about the 2 colonies and the years of founding. Also discuss the two groups that were involved. There is a difference between the founding of the colony of Plymouth and the other. Discuss differences. Discuss governor of Plymouth and the absorption. Discuss settlement in Massachusetts Bay. 11. Answer questions in 3 well developed
