Jurassic WebQuest A WebQuest for 3rd--5th Grade (Science) Designed by Peter DePaola Introduction | Task | Process | Evaluation | Conclusion | Credits | Teacher Page Introduction Dinosaurs have always excited us! In fact, do you know that many people do not believe that dinosaurs even existed! Granted we have found their bones, teeth, eggs, and discovered what type of environment most came from, that’s still not enough proof for some other people. Nevertheless, we all have our favorites. Many movies have been made about dinosaurs. Can you think of some? Do you have a favorite? I want you to discover your inner dinosaur!The Task Your discovery is to find your inner dinosaur. What dinosaur best represents you? To discover this you will need: 1.) An individual chart on what you eat (omnivore, carnivore, vegetarian) and what kind of environment do you like to live in (constantly swimming, strictly land, like to fly, etc) 2.) Pictures of the dinosaur you have chosen 3.) A description of the dinosaur you have chosen 4.) An imagination The Process To begin your journey into discovering your inner dinosaur: 1.) Start on your own to chart your sleeping, eating, social, and environmental habits 2.) When your chart is complete, determine with other classmates whether you are a solitaire dinosaur or you move in a herd, flock, school, or even a pod 3.) Divide yourself with others like you 4.) When you are with other dinosaurs of the same kind, discuss where you come from and create a map of the earth as it would have been seen thenand plot your location 5.) As a group, make one chart based on your sleeping, eating, social, and environmental habits 6.) Plan and produce your groups project to the class 7.) This activity is meant to be fun and done on your own and cooperatively.
