Strategy ScenarioIndividual Scenario #3Strategy Scenario Piti Kanjanapongpaisal Rehearsal Individual Scenario #3 NAME: Piti Kanjanapongpaisal STRATEGY: Rehearsal CONTENT: Creating a list of foreign vocabulary words into the categories for parts of speech. TITLE: Foreign vocabulary rehearsal TIME: 1 hour to make a list of foreign vocabulary words categorized into parts of speech. NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Twenty learners at high school level TARGET AUDIENCE: 9th grade high school students GOAL OF ACTIVITY: To allow the learners to rehearse foreign vocabulary words which have been categorized into parts of speech. GOAL OF SCRIPT: To enhance the learners’ memorizing capacity, they require rehearsal of vocabulary words by category. LEARNING OUTCOMES: (Gagne’s Learning Outcomes): Verbal Information and Cognitive StrategiesLEARNING OUTCOMES: (Bloom’s Taxonomy): Knowledge, Comprehension, and Application LEARNER CHARACTERISTICS: The learners are 9th grade students preparing for a quiz for language class. ENTRY SKILLS: Basic knowledge of a new language. SETTING: Classroom MEDIA: Handout, Paper, pencil, and chalkboard PROCESS: 1. Gaining attention by asking the learners to guess appropriate category for a given words. 2. Explain and present the parts of speech used for categorization of foreign words to the learners. 3. Handout lists of foreign vocabulary words 4. Allow the learners to create a table showing where the foreign words fit into the categories 5. Learners match the vocabulary words in the given handout and fill into the table which they just created. 6. Review table with the learners out-loud. 7. Repeat the process correcting all errors. STRATEGY ASSESSMENT: It is a good strategy to help the learners practice memorizing the vocabulary words because they can rehearse repeatedly and the “rehearsal can be characterized as inner speech in the service of memory maintenance”.REFERENCES: • West, C.K., Farmer, J.A., & Wolff, P.M.
