Strategy: MasteryContent: OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Regulations for Confined Space EntryTitle: Get Me Out Of HereNumber of participants: 1 per computer.Time required: 10 to 15 minutes per lesson, several lessons per topic.Target Audience: Industrial work force employees.Goal of Activity: To demonstrate mastery of training required by OSHA Regulations.Purpose of script: To describe a method for ensuring and documenting mastery learning.Learning Outcomes, Gagné’s Taxonomy: Verbal information, defined concepts.Learning Outcomes, HEO Taxonomy: Knowledge, comprehension.Learner Characteristics: Industrial (blue collar) employees, limited amount of time available to be in training and away from work station.Entry Skills: Able to use a keyboard and mouse.Setting: Industrial learning center.Media: Computer.Process:Develop a computer-based training program based on OSHA Regulations. Divide the program into lessons that can be completed in 15 minutes or less.At the end of each lesson provide a multiple-choice quiz. Provide a color-coded menu of lesson choices to show which lessons the current user has attempted and whether the end-of-lesson quiz was passed or not. Design the program so that all lesson quizzes must be mastered before an end-of-course test can be accessed. A mastery score on the end-of-course test is required in order to demonstrate compliance with OSHA Regulations for training. Provide for user log-in at the beginning of the program to create a record of training. Have the program automatically add quiz and test score information to the student record and the course record.Ray Bland ISD 613 Fall 96 page 1Strategy Assessment: 1. Does the CBT course cover all of the relevant portions of the OSHA Regulation?2. Do the scoring, color-coding, and documentation elements of the CBT course function properly?3. Are the students able to use the mouse and keyboard to move through the lesson?4. Are the students able to complete lessons within the target time frame (15 minutes or less)?
