PHYLAB- 132 : Lab 1 Section: LS Date: 09/20/2019 TA: Sachin Shain Group Members: 1: Alexa Fox 2: Andres Arenas 3: Erica Decourcy 4: Michelle Rabkin Part 1 - Experimental Design 1. Describe your methods of measuring the dimensions of the library. Length!: We measured how many white blocks there were along the length of the library, then measured the dimensions of each block. Width:! We did the same as for the length; measured how many white blocks there were and the dimensions of each white block. Height:! We used the idea of similar triangles. We used a person as the smaller comparable height, and found a spot far enough away from the library so that the ruler lined up with the top of the person’s head also lined up with the top of the library. We measured the height of the person. Since the length and angle of the ruler remained the same, we were able to find the height of the library. 2. Calculate the volume of the library using the dimensions you measured, and record them for the second part of this lab. Volume- 3335.02*3282.95*=89,825,356,610 cm^3 More data and calculations in spreadsheet Part II - Statistical Analysis Representing your data 3. Calculate the mean and standard deviation of each of the three dimensions (length/width/height) using the four measurements taken by your table using the same
