The purpose of these questions is to introduce the topic to you before coming to class. 3. No late prelabs will be accepted. 4. Each prelab will be worth 5 points each. B. Labs are due at the end of the class period 1. Answer all the parts of the lab assigned, even if you do not need to turn in that page. Questions on the practical quizzes may come from any part of the lab, so make sure it is complete. 2. You are encouraged to work in lab-groups on the lab exercises. You may learn more by helping your lab partners. If you are the recipient of help, be sure you understand the problem and the solution/answer, so you can do similar problems on the practical quizzes. 3. Keys for the labs will be posted on my website (www.wou.edu/~brownk) on the Thursday after it is turned in.4. You may need extra time to answer post-lab questions. With approval, you may turn those in at the beginning of your next lab class period. Be sure they are turned in on time, because no late papers will be accepted. If you turn the post-lab at the beginning of the next class, it will be returned to you at the next class meeting. 5. Lab exercises will be worth 10 points each. C. Practical quizzes will have questions similar to lab exercise questions. 1. There will be three practical quizzes throughout the term. The dates are shown on the schedule. Each quiz will include material from the labs completed since the last quiz. They will not be comprehensive. The purpose of these is to allow me to gauge how well you are learning the lab material. 2. These quizzes will be open book and open note. You may bring any written material you feel necessary for support for these quizzes. The quiz problems will be like questions and activities done on the lab exercises, so bring your graded and corrected labs to class on the quiz days. 3. Be sure you go to the web page for my ES 105 lab, to correct your labs with the right responses to the questions. You may use those corrected labs, but no printed copies of keys will be allowed for use on the quizzes. 4. The practical quizzes will be individual efforts, without the assistance of your lab partners. 5. If you know in advance that you will miss a quiz, please contact me in advance, as soon as is convenient, so we can make arrangements for you to take a quiz.
