Current State NarrativeFinal Project ConXtech 10x10x10Describe the design process using the narrative you builtCritique the design process using the narrative you builtDescribe the methods you used to build the narrative and where more information is needed.December 5, 2008. Stanford University. CEE 215Current State NarrativeFinal Project ConXtech 10x10x10Luis Ignacio GaldoDaniel PayneCarlos IzquierdoDescribe the design process using the narrative you builtThe current state narrative describes fundamentally the decision making processfor different projects that ConXtech intends to pursue. The narrative aims toshow how ConXtech currently executes projects. The current state first describes what we call the Country Level narrative. Here,we display that ConXtech is pursuing different projects in different geographicallocations. For educational purposes we decided to represent three countries withsignificant cultural difference. This was meant to underline the differences in theprocesses between projects in different locations. On our case we showVenezuela, United States and Sweden. Our intention was at first to describe thedecision making process in these particular locations but due to time constraintswe concentrated on Venezuela since two of the group members haveconstruction experience on construction projects in this particular location andwe made use of readily available information.Embedded within the main narrative in each geographical location there will be asub-narrative. As mentioned before they each will describe the process behindeach construction project. In our case the decision making process in a mid-riseresidential building in Venezuela is represented. The narrative shows asomewhat linear process to the construction of the project. Particular to thislocation is the partnership that is formed by the land proprietor and the ownerand the introduction of financiers. In this case we decided that the design teamhired by the owner (or at least contemplated) is ConXtech. Additionally it showswhen and how the gatekeepers come in to review the project and eventuallyapprove it. Regarding the design the narrative represents, feedback between theowner and the design team has to happen in order to materialize the conceptualdesign. Finally the process will lead to the construction of the project.Critique the design process using the narrative you builtFirstly the current state narrative describes our assumption that ConXtech islargely eager to participate in every project regardless of the geographicallocation and the many difficulties this brings. We believe essentially that thecurrent state process of ConXtech could potentially evolve into a process where aformal decision making process would radically affect operations, and eventuallytheir desired outcomes as well. A decision making tool like MACDADI will helpthe company better adapt to different projects in different locations with theirrespective characteristics. We believe that ConXtech’s current approach is toounsophisticated to meet their desire to implement 10-10-10 on a global scale.Particularly they are not leveraging the strengths of their system which areindustrial manufacturing process and high quality control.Describe the methods you used to build the narrative and where moreinformation is needed. This was, throughout the course, the main issue in addressing ConXtech 10-10-10. There actually does not exist a project constructed under this notion. Wefound that MACDADI is project oriented and its application is problematic for aprocess like 10-10-10’s application. The current state narrative was based on previous work experience of some ourmembers in Venezuela, and additionally research on the steps taken to executeresidential projects in this
