Week 4 DQ3 Which is the most essential news value the audience interest importance or timeliness of the story Why The interest of the audience is the most essential news value for the reason that it controls the industry on what news will be reported If no audience will listen the news would be lifeless like a sports team without supporters In order for reporters to convey the news they must have viewers or listeners A subject matter to be essential is based on the audience since some things are not important to them but some are important to others Also news channels need some audience to survive because they need revenue to maintain their operations Hence audience interest is of vital importance and a material necessity If I will be able to control one news agency I will make a survey in the place to know what topic the local community has interest of In this way I will be able to surpass my competitors by acquiring the true and best news
