These producers can choose to be strict or hands-off.- Spector had a clear sense of artistic vision, big ego, and controlling tendencies.- He created a new sound that no one heard before and created top hits.- He is associated with “Da Doo Ron Ron,” which was produced in the Brill Building. Darlene Love is the lead singer, but received no credit.- The “Wall of Sound” refers to his performing technique. It was a big, exciting sound. He had first and second musicians playing the same instrument to obtain this sound.- He believed that artists were interchangeable. Darlene Love was an example of this. She would step in to sing other artists’ music, but never obtained the credit.- His favorite group was the Ronettes. One of their songs is “Be My Baby.” He married Veronica Bennett (Ronnie Spector). They were from California and family-oriented with their father as their manager. The Beach Boys took advantage of the beach phenomenon at this time. They wrote songs to appeal to teenagers like Chuck Berry, who sued them because “Surfin’ USA” sounded similar to his song “Sweet Little Sixteen.” Phil Spector also influenced The Beach Boys because their music sounded lusher.o Dick Dale and the Del-tones were also a part of the surf music craze. Dick Dale is known as the king of the surf guitar. Dale had a major influence on heavy metal and punk rock by his guitar skills. He attempted to make his guitar sound like waves.
