WoodstockE. Beach BoysCurrent Lecture Psychedelic Rock- Jimi Hendrixo He is almost always listed at the number one rock guitar player.o Hendrix built his own studio named Electric Lady Land Studios. He released an album titled Electric Lady Land. This album was the beginning of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It featured controlled songs and jamming. “Voodoo” consisted of jamming with Winwood and his band. o He thought of sound as color. “And the Gods Made Love” shows this.o Hendrix performed “Along the Watchtower,” which is a cover from Bob Dylan.This song showed his guitar solo style. He played sliding, wah-wah, and straight. This song was his most well-known song. o He died at the age of 27 due to drug and alcohol related causes. It was pronounced that he choked on his own vomit.- Edgard Varese is known as the father of electronic music. This is where the experimentation of electronic music began.- Woodstock Music and Art Fairo Woodstock occurred in August of 1969.o Around 450,000 people attended.o The first performer was Ritchie Havens. “Freedom” was based on an old spiritual with improvisation.These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture.
