The Laboratory schedule changes weekly, so it will be impossible to make up a lab in a previous week if an absence occurs. Two (2) consecutive absences will result in being dropped from the lab course and hence the lecture course. Do not assume that the instructor has dropped you; it is your responsibility to drop the course through the proper administrative routes. There are no make up Lab Exams. There are no exceptions! If a student has proper documentation such as death certificate, doctor’s note, then the lab exam points missed will not be calculated in the student’s final grade. Lab exams will cover theory, concepts, data analysis and identification of organisms and structures. On lab exam dates, the exam will be start promptly at the beginning of the lab. Because the lab exams will be mostly on screen, a late student will be permitted to start the exam at the place where the other students are, the instructor will not start the exam over for late students. Lab reports/write-ups are due the following week after the lab exercises have been completed. No late reports will be accepted, even if the student is absent the following week unless the student provides proper documentation. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the instructor receives the report even if they will be absent the following week. Please come to lab on time and prepared to start experiments. Students are expectedto read the lab exercises prior to coming to lab each week. You will receive 1 letter grade for the entire course, which will be calculated from both your total lecture points.
