explain directions and expectations of the assignment I am doing this so every student has the same opportunity to hear instructions and ask questions for clarification Whole group is beneficial because this approach allows teacher to address several different needs at one time for the entire group of students such as activating prior knowledge teacher modeling and setting the purpose for reading and or activity Practice Needs Based Small Group Small Group needs based is beneficial because this approach addresses the needs of diverse learners and teacher can implement strategies to include scaffolding among the group members Groups are intended to address diverse learning needs developmental cultural and linguistic Assessment Needs Based
