Review of Agar’s Opinons- Every picture you choose or post you share you are curating who you areo You always have to presenting yourself as a certain type of persono Before, when you wanted to present yourself as a certain type of person, all you did was be that person in public, but now there are always clear divisions of whoyou are wherever you are ato We are thinking about how to present yourself 100% of the time: “should you post this”no moment of peace always a moment of inauthenticity -no chance to just be yourself because you are always trying to curateQ: Agar gives us a definition of oversharing?He doesn’t give us a very clear definition of oversharing, but discusses more about “oversharers”- Oversharing: relationship statuses, meals, sexting, etc- He wants to focus on a particular type of person that has certain kind of characteristics- main problem of oversharing is all about context - Oversharers are insensitive to context and everything is all over everywhere; not focusing any kind or type of post but rather a type of person that is context insensitive and putting a lot of information out there- People share too much information because: they want attention, they have a slight insecurity that they don’t have any deep attention from anyone, want acceptance andvalidation from peopleo People feel insecure= under developed sense of self, so they look at other people to validate themselves.
