The role of community colleges is to prepare students for the bachelor’s degree. Community colleges base their existence on the idea that everyone should have access to a college education. If Community colleges were to fail in this regard thenthat impacts the nation. The nation then lacks enough degreed professionals to compete in the global economy. Deductive approach: (general idea to a specific premise) U.S. suffers from a less than stellar college graduation rate; U.S. looks outside its boundaries to find degreed professionals. U.S. may soon become too dependant on other countries to find science and technology leaders. Loss of power/influence in the global scheme. National network of community colleges must dobetter at helping students transfer and earn their bachelor’s degrees.
