Let’s be Critical Thinkers……How do we approach the Discussion & Analysis section?What did you accomplish in writing the Literature Review?Summarized hours of research!Compared similarities/differences between articles using transitionsSought out and highlighted “solutions”Gained better understanding of the articlesHighlighted the “purpose” of the studyHighlighted the “results” of the studyHighlighted the “methodology” of the studyPut all the above information into written formPut all above into an “objective” report (following the Scientific Method)1. What is there left to accomplish in the Discussion & Analysis section?2. To push or advise that more studies be done in the field3. Statistical results—what do they mean? Were there correlations (relation-ships)? 4. To develop an argument regarding research and a solution5. Return to the hypothesis and discuss whether it was valid or notOr, what needs to be highlighted and delved further into from the Literature Review?1. Point out weaknesses2. Corresponding solutions within the articles (There will NOT be a separate Solutions Section then 11/26/08 MON 9:30)3. A Table could be utilized to make results more reader-friendlyOr, of the studies/articles reviewed in the Lit Review, what are the ONE or TWOmost important areas of information? The purpose? With regards to solutions, evaluate which ones you think may work and which ones may not work7. Use authors’ last names and the year in parenthesis when discussing the results and solutions8.
