The Board of Trustees has determined that all JCC graduates should develop or enhance certain essential skills while enrolled in the college. ADO 3 (Computational skills and understanding appropriate to the program of study) is the primary outcome of this course. 2► Course Topics and Assigned Homework See Class Calendar for timeline of topics covered, exams and final. To help you learn it is recommended that you read the textbook, work through the examples, attend class regularly,  participate in class discussions,  do assignments, and form a study group with other students in the class. 3► Course Requirements and Grading System – based on 1000 points Requirements Points Percent of Grade Exams**: Five exams at 120 points or 12% each. You may use no notes and no calculator. In order to foster a collegiate environment, maintain the integrity of student grades, and provide for proper student placement and advancement through sequenced courses, the department believes this to be in the best interests of both students and faculty. Extra credit is understood to include bonus points on a test or assignment, separate extra credit assignments, and other forms of providing opportunities for more than 100% credit.” Exams**: If you must miss a test, contact me before the test is given in class to make arrangements for a make-up. Please notify me immediately if you are unable to be at an exam. You will not receive a grade or credit for the course. - Withdraw deadline for this semester can be found on the JCC website in the Academic Calendar. If you do not wish to complete the class and receive a grade, because you are not happy with your grade or for any other reason, you must withdraw by this date. With the use of the participation grading system, the instructor cannot withdraw you after the eighth week. - Incompletes will be given only in accordance with JCC policy. The incomplete will be granted only if the student can provide documentation that his or her work up to that point is sufficient in quality, but lacking in quantity, due to circumstances beyond the student’s control. Furthermore, a written plan for making up the missing work within one semester must be completed by the student.
