When I have corrected an assignment or when your have completed a computer based assignment the grades will appear on your MML course account. You will be able to see your grades as soon as they are posted. HOMEWORKHomework problems are housed on the MyMathLab website. I will give you instructionson how to access this website. The only way to complete and submit homework is via thissite. The homework is designed to help you learn how to work the problems correctly. If you choose you may seek further assistance on your homework. Help is available via MML. There are a variety of hints, tips and demonstrations that are available 24/7. You may resubmit your homework as many times as you like before the deadline. That means that if you received a score of 75% on an assignment and you were not happy with that score you could redo the assignment and resubmit for a different grade. This may be done as many times as you like. The problems will be similar in style but the numbers will be different for each try.Give yourself ample time to complete the homework especially when you are getting used to the system. If you begin 90 minutes before the deadline and your try to submit your work 1 minute after the deadline it will be refused by the system.Even if you are absent on the day it is due, homework will not be accepted late. You are not allowed to use a calculator on your homework. QUIZZESEach section of the book will have a quiz. The quizzes will be computer based. You should complete the homework to make sure that you know how to work the problems and then take the quiz. You may take each quiz a maximum of 3 times before the deadlineto try to improve your score. Again, on subsequent attempts, the problems will be of a similar style but the numbers will be different. You are not allowed to use a calculator for your quizzes.JOURNALYou will be required to keep a math journal. This is to be kept in a one subject spiral notebook. The journal will be used to work your problems as you complete them on the computer. If you have questions about specific problems, make a note in your journal. This will be a quick reference when you come to class and ask for help.Math is as much about processes as it is about the answers. The computer asks for answers. I want to see processes. You will show me how you got your answers in your journal. This will also allow me to identify where you went wrong if you are having trouble. Bring your journal to class everyday. I will ask to see your journals on occasion to be sure that you are showing your work correctly.Page 4 of 7MTH 095 – Winter 07OllilaEXAMS and TESTSThere will be 5 chapter tests and a comprehensive final exam. Calculators and notes are not allowed as aids for tests or exams.Exams are paper and pencil based and are administered in the classroom. Exams are to betaken on the day announced.
