Reflection Narrative Paper Week 5 I have always tried to be a conscious consumer and user when it comes to sustainability For as long as I can remember I have collected plastic bags from my shopping trips and used them as garbage disposal bags I have recently started carrying a reusable straw with me wherever I go I have been fortunate enough to be brought up by parents who understand sustainability and make active efforts by conserving energy and using renewable forms of it These are just a few of the lifestyle changes that I have adopted over the years However the grandiosity of the world and the factors affecting it are much more than my mere contributions There are some things that I do not have control over Like the carbon dioxide emissions made by public transports or even private transport for that matter Like the ultimate waste disposal mechanisms because they are beyond my control In times like this in most countries the government tries to make conscious decisions But that is also dependent on the kind of economy the country has I come from India a country that is still recognized as a developing country where things like sustainability take a back seat and most of the importance is given to industrial development I take various measures to do my best but I also understand that it might never be enough to objectively make the world a better place Unless efforts are made in unity and the citizens along with the government work together and are mobilized with aligned goals
