RST 242November 12, 2017Reflection Narrative 3Currently there are many environmental concerns for the earth. The degradation of our planet has gone up tremendously in the last few years and it is very concerning. The aspects of nature that I am most concerned about losing is the biodiversity of our planet. Biodiversity is the variety of different species on earth, which include plants, animals, and various ecosystems. There are many reasons for the loss of biodiversity as well, such as destruction of natural habitats and deforestation. Biodiversity is very important because it allows for a balanced ecosystem, provides many biological resources that can be useful in items such as medicine, andbiodiversity also allows for many social benefits like recreation and tourism as well as allowing for a more culturally educated society. Having a biologically diverse world is very important for all life on earth, and this aspect is being greatly threatened. Many species are becoming endangered because humans are tearing these animal’s homes apart in order to create homes for themselves. This is alarming because biodiversity gives humans and animals a variety of food, industrial resources, different medicines, as well as a diversity in culture throughout the world.
