RST 242Reflection 2November 5, 2017Throughout this lesson, we learned a large amount about the views of early settlers when it comes to nature. Many of the factors of nature and landscapes that were important to them are also very important to me. One example that changed the settler’s views of nature was artwork and different writings. Artwork impacts my personal views on nature as well. WhenI see beautiful artwork of nature, it truly makes me understand the beauty of the natural world and how mesmerizing nature can really be, especially when it is untouched by humans. Many descriptions and metaphors also impact the way I look at nature, for example, a quote my John Muir states, “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” This quote gives a very positive idea on nature, showing how nature has so much to offer, which gives me a very positive view on nature. Being able to see beautiful natural landscapes is something that greatlyimpacts my views on nature. Without seeing landscapes in person, I would not get an actual idea of how vast and amazing nature really is. The most recent experience I had with nature wason a visit to Yosemite National Park, and seeing the large mountains and how well the natural landscape was preserved for the guests was an astonishing
