Reflection Narrative Paper Gender identity and environment are more interlinked than they seem Gender identity can have multiple effects on the environment I identify as a woman and I have different environemental values as compared to my male or non binary counterparts One aspect of life where I believe where I could make a difference has to do with fast fashion It s an up and coming trend where brands like Shein H M Forever 21 ect sell trendy clothes for cheaper prices As a result of which production costs are minimal production is abundant and in turn quality is cheap This encourages people to buy multiple poor quality pieces frequently This impacts the environment because a large amount of these clothes have a very small shelf life and end up in landfills Besides this the production also has harmful by products which adversely affect the environment Being a woman menstruation is a common phenomena I go through monthly An eco friendly way to go through that time of the month would be to use reusable menstrual cups instead of pads and tampons This would reduce the constant menstrual waste as well as the by products of the sanitary products producing factories Companies that produce the makeup that men and women use frequently are often tested on animals Multiple news reports have mentioned that makeup testing has been proven to be harmful on animals This is endangering different species which is harmful for the environment and disbalances the ecosystem To conclude it is important to mention that all of these methods have better and more eco friendly alternatives which if adopted would make nature wilder and more beautiful
