In addition, they should become exposed topractical constraints and considerations while designing some elementary analog circuits.Outcome Assessment:- Lab performance- Lab Workstation Test- Lab Final Exam- Lab Write-ups- Semester-end lab and instructor evaluationRelationship of Course to Program Objectives:This course supports the achievement of the following objectives (numbers in parentheses refer to specificABET criteria):(3.a) an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering(3.b) an ability to conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data(3.c) an ability to design an elementary circuit to meet desired needs(3.e) an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems(3.k) an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineeringpractice(EE.3) a knowledge of advanced mathematics such as differential equationsLab Coordinator:M. Javad ZoroofchiEE 122 LAB ELECTRONIC DESIGN I LABORATORY SPRING 2009 Course Instructor:Office and Office Hours:Phone and Email:Textbook(s) and Other Required Material:- Electronic Design I Laboratory Manual (Spring 2009 edition) by Khosrow Ghadiri. This manual isavailable at Maple Press, 481 E. San Carlos St., San Jose.- Each student is to purchase a Lab Notebook in which all work pertaining to the lab portion of this courseshould be recorded (see Introduction section of Lab Manual). Notebooks will be inspected on thepremises during the second week of Experiment #1 and the week of Experiment #9.- Each student must possess a 3-strip circuit board for use in the lab.Reference(s):EE 122 Lecture textbooks and reference(s) (if any).Lab Reports:The reporting procedure for lab experiments is covered in the Introduction section of the LabManual . Lab write-ups are due during the next regularly scheduled lab period immediately followingthe completion of the corresponding experiment. Late write-ups will receive no credit.Exams:During the week of Experiment #5 there will be a written Lab Workstation Test. Also, during the lastmeeting of the class there will be a written Lab Final Exam.Grading:Lab Performance 30%Lab Workstation Test 25%Lab Final Exam 25%Write-ups 20%Note that even though the lab grade amounts to 20% of the EE122 course, failure to perform an experiment completely and/or submit a required write-up, or unsatisfactory performance, in general, willresult in an Incomplete grade in the course.EE 122 LAB ELECTRONIC DESIGN I LABORATORY SPRING 2009Lab ScheduleWEEK OF LAB PERFORMANCE OTHER ACTIVITYJan. 19 1Introduction to Lab Workstation --Jan. 26 2Introduction to Lab Workstation --Feb. 02 Exp. #1 (parts A & B) Scope, Simulation DemosFeb. 09 Exp. #1 (remainder) Lab Notebook InspectionFeb. 16 Exp. #2 (2.2) Write-up Due (Exp #1)Feb. 23 Exp. #2 (remainder) --Mar. 02 Exp. #3 Write-up Due (Exp #2)Mar. 09 Exp. #4 Write-up Due (Exp #3)Curve Tracer Demo (diodes)Mar. 16 Exp. #5 Write-up Due (Exp #4)LAB WORKSTATION TESTMar. 23 Spring Recess --Mar. 303Exp. #6 (6.2 & 6.3) Write-up Due (Exp #5)Apr. 06 Exp. #6 (remainder) --Apr. 13 Exp. #7 Write-up Due (Exp #6) Apr. 20 Exp. #8 Write-up Due (Exp #7)Curve Tracer Demo (bipolar)Apr. 27 Exp. #9 Write-up Due (Exp #8)Lab Notebook InspectionMay 04 -- Write-up Due (Exp #9)LAB FINAL EXAM1.
