Errors in Civil 3D 2007 Curriculum Module 2 Task 1: Create a Civil 3D Environment Define a Description Key Set: Step 1: Replace “Prospector Settings” with “Settings”. Review the Points: Step 3: Reports functionality has now been placed under “General -> Reports Manager”. Expand Reports Manager, expand Points, and Right click on Points and select Execute. Task 2: Create a Site Boundary Draw the Boundary with Object Snaps Replace Steps 4-7 with following steps: First, click on point 40000, followed by clicking on “light bulb” in right bottom corner of screen and select Isolate Objects command. Then, instead of selecting “Add Fixed Line – Two Points”, Select “Draw Tangent-Tangent with No Curves”. Now select points in counterclockwise fashion (zoom-in to view points clearly) from 40000-40013. Step 9: Change the Radius to “750” from “75”. Use the Boundary Creation Layout Method Step 7: Replace “Transient option” to “Transparent Commands”. Transparent Commands toolbar can be activated by right clicking on blank area around toolbars -> Civil -> Transparent Commands. Step 9: Change the radius to 750 instead of 75. View LandXML Reports Step 1: Generate report on Property:100 by going to General -> Reports Manager, and then expand Reports_manager -> Parcels, right click on Area_Report and selecting Execute. Module 3 Task 4: Analyze the Existing Ground Surface Step 4: Replace “Prospector Settings” with “Settings”. Revised by Sanjay on 2/23/2007Analyze the Surface – 3D Step 3: Use following data: Number of Ranges = 8 Display Type = 3D Faces Scheme = Pastels Elevation Display Mode = Exaggerate Elevation Exaggerate Elevation by Scale Factor = 5 Step 10: Instead of clicking on Flat Shaded button, pick Realistic from the drop down option from Visual Styles on top left hand. Label Contours Step 4: “C-TOPO-LABL” layer does not exist. Use “C-TOPO-TABL” instead. Module 4 Task 1: Create the Site and Roadways First Alignment: LandXML Import Method Step 8 and 9: Previews are not available. You could try to zoom to the respective parcels by right clicking, and the selecting “Zoom to” option. Module 5 Create Point Groups: Water Valve Point Group Step 8 and 9: Previews are not available. You could try to zoom to the respective parcels by right clicking, and the selecting “Zoom to” option. Module 6 Become Familiar with the Survey Environment: Step 11: After right click on Existing Edge of Pavement figure style, select Edit. Survey Network Style: Step 10: DO NOT REMOVE the network. Instead, skip the next few steps (Step 1-12 under Import Survey Point and Figure Object Data), and continue from Step 13 - “Expand the Figures tree…” Module 15 Design Change: Erase the Concrete Barrier and Rebuild Corridor: Revised by Sanjay on 2/23/2007Step 2: Instead of using “E” at command line, you can also Select the barrier assembly and hit Delete on keyboard.
