Team 1 Progress Report #211/20/09Introduction A great deal of progress has been made in the past few weeks. Pulse width modulation has been put into operation on the microcontroller, the optimal Peltier device has been found, and the current out of the microcontroller has been boosted via transition stage. The few remaining issues in hardware and software will be outlined in the subsequent sections. Hardware The components for automatic control have been received and tested. Each are working as expected. The only remaining step in this area is to implement the components into the current system and retest. The other main hardware issue is that the manual controls have not yet been set up. This is a minor adjustment and will be remedied shortly. Other considerations include a sensor for the body temperature and another relay for the pump. These are not critical to the design specifications and will be dealt with time allowing. Software Pulse width modulation has been implemented on the microcontroller. The duty cycle is still under consideration. An initial segment has been added to the very beginningof the sequence to bring the water temperature up or down before starting into the pulseTeam 1 Progress Report #211/20/09width modulation, the timing of this segment can also be changed at will. The remaining software issues are programming the LCD and user interface. BudgetAll components for the project have been ordered with $145.12 left in the budget. Conclusion In conclusion, we are on schedule to complete the system with automatic heating and cooling within the next week. Manual controls will be added shortly as well as a display and user interface. This will still leave ample time for testing of the system and ofthe duty
