Charlie Rose Interviews Charles Ferguson on his Documentary Inside job Charles Ferguson filmmaker he made the documentary Inside Job to expose the corruption in America and its banking system and the involvement of the government bailing them out deregulating etc he is not a political person just analysis and journalism The film is about the corruption in the U S Decided to make the film after the collapse of the Lehman Brothers their collapse was forced by the government because of its competition He didn t know before the film the ethical level to which American finance especially investment banking have sunk and it is not illegal Second thing was the astonishing incompetence of the government response to the crisis of 2006 2008 and the lack of knowledge during the economic period in 2008 Things they did well are connected to things they did badly matter of competence completely unprepared for what was happening and matter of ethics the things they did well saved the banks not the population and being completely unprepared Obama had the chance to turn things around and make things better for the economy and politics but he passed it and this might cause civil right movements We are in danger of finding America had become a very different place from the dreams of its founders
