Case 1 1. I believe Dave should take the 2-3 weeks off of work to help his wife with their new child. Although work may seem important to him, it is important that he is there for his wife and takes care of his family. 2. The benefits of Dave taking leave is that he is supporting and taking care of his wife and newborn child. The cost is that Dave is off of work for 2-3 weeks without getting paid. 3. In this case, I believe the benefits are more important in this case. Family is more important and Dave needs to be there for his wife and newborn child. 4. The benefits are more important because having a child is a start to a whole new world. If Dave is not there to help his wife, that shows he is a selfish husband. Case 2 1. The argument in this case is that Donna has always given up her career to help her family and be there for the kids. However, the daughter wants her dad to take care of her. 2. The argument in this case is that Donna’s daughter wants her father to take care of her because she never sees him due to his job.
