1 The castration on Uranus begins with prefacing the fact that Uranus and Earth had many children In Uranus s eyes his children were bad so he hid them inside of Earth Earth was distressed by the actions of Uranus so she had a plan for the children She wanted to punish her father for what he had done but the children were scared Kronos decides to step up and help Earth When Uranus sky lays on Earth signifying night and his love Kronos acts In his Kronos s right took the great long sickle with jagged teeth and swiftly lopped off his own father s members and cast them away to fall behind him Hes Theog 180 183 The castration leaves blood all over Earth As the genitals go off into the sea of Earth a white foam of afros begins to come to life The foam grows into a woman signifying the birth of Aphrodite Her gods and men call Aphrodite and the foam born goddess and rich crowned Cytherea because she grew amid the foam Hes Theog 196 197 Afrodite is a goddess that is loved and honored by all the other gods and goddesses from the beginning of her creation 2 The birth of Athena is depicted in two or even three different stories In the first Zues is in marriage with his wife Metis and they decide that they are going to bring forth Athena Instead though Zues eats her due to advice from Earth and Uranus his parents Zues wants to hold his power sing Athena us equal to him in strength and smarts He puts her into his belly to refrain the good and evil from escaping In the second depiction Zues gives birth to Athena He was still worried about Athena s power and that she may overpower his thunderbolt In doing so he swallows Mertis the mother The father of men and gods gave birth to her by way of his head and on the banks of the river Trito And she remained hidden between the inward parts of Zues Hes Theog 927 929 Athena was born
