because of supposed hacking although it s hard to say what exactly happened in order to obtain those photos Some people suggest having a two step authentication which includes your regular password along with a code sent to your phone in order to access photos online that are set to private iCloud and the idea of My Photo Stream automatically uploading all your pictures has some controversy If this information is now available on the internet is it public So did they really break the law if they just got it through their icloud Today s point Your Crazy Eyes No Blur Physiology Nobody invents New Media we build new media We observe phenomenons and then we build technology based on what we observed Saccadic Movements your eyes are constantly in motion and your eyes stop working if they no longer move A red square was on the screen and we were told to stare at it until it disappeared this made us see an inverted version of the square like a black shadow This is a good example of how our eyes don t stop moving otherwise there wouldn t be this lingering image If our eyes keep moving why is there no blur Our brain is wired to prevent blurring by turning off vision reception while our eyes is in movement The reason we continued to see a shadow of the red box is because our eyes hold on to the last image we saw until it sets again on the new image Our brain is constantly making sense of what we re seeing organizing this data into something we can recognize We saw many pictures that had two images within the same picture which shows how our brain organizing this information and how some people can reorganize to see both images Persistence of Vision POV starts everything vision All moving images are based on the idea of our brain organizing things with a persistence 26 27 NMIX 2020 2 30 3 20 Pr Shamp Capturing Reality Magic Lantern Persistence of vision is the phenomenon of the eye by which an afterimage is thought to persist for approximately one twenty fifth of a second on the retina Paintings and Photography started because people wanted to capture reality For example an old cave painting showed a buffalo with 6 legs this represented movement because when they ran it seems like they had multiple legs This inspires the idea of wanting to capture realistic motion as well Today instead of using our hands to create realistic images we use technology in order to ensure there are no mistakes or interpretations Athanasius Kircher he traveled everywhere taking pictures with this magic lantern that tried to combine multiple pictures back to back in order to create a type of broken movement Artists over time like Johannes Zahn attempted to capture movement with drawings that showed multiple stills from a moment taking place These attempts were not good enough at capture reality in motion 5 things are needed in order to make motion pictures Persistence of vision Photography Motion picture camera Film Projection POV Pioneers When you re watching motion pictures or even videos on youtube there is actually no motion at all your brain is just seeing an illusion of movement created with persistence of vision Pictures are captured extremely fast usually anywhere from 24 to 60 frames per second and so our brain can t tell that videos are just MANY still photos In reality A LOT of people contributed to forming this idea which we go into depth about 3 people developed this idea JM anonymous contributor Peter Mark Roget below Thaumatrope Developed by Dr John Paris 27 28 NMIX 2020 2 30 3 20 Pr Shamp Inventions Phenakistoscope Two pieces of cardboard are held together with a string and as they spin the two images on the pieces of cardboard blur together so that they seem they are moving together in the same image Developed by Joseph Plateau Spinning disc that made you think motion was taking place because of the quick succession of the images Zoetrope quickly mimicking movement Praxinoscope Developed by George Homer Looks more like a carousel or a rotating night light with images on it which spun Develop by Emil Reynaud Similar to the Zoetrope but had an extra inner layer of images that rotated and lower sides that allowed people to see the images easier Early pictures never had people smiling because it took 10 to 15 minutes to take the Still pictures were too still pictures Photography and copper plates Motion Picture Camera The length of time needed to take a picture reduced with many inventions like using silver Reduced time from 3 15 minutes in 1839 to seconds in 1871 California
