I will answer them when I have time at the end of the day. – Qs and responses in the chat will be accessible to everyone. 2. If you have exam-related Qs after 5:00 pm on M, 12/12, send email to me, not your TA, by 10:00 pm. Please understand that I will not reply to exam related Qs after 10:00 pm on M, 12/12 or on exam day. Everyone except students who have testing accommodations & are taking exams at Testing & Evaluation will take exams @ their scheduled lecture time in room 121. Arrive early on exam days so that everyone is settled and has a scantron with name and ID# entered by 1:00 (lecture 1) or 2:30 (lecture 2). Lecture 1 @ 1:00. Otherwise, your scantron will appear as “no-name.” Please do this before I distribute the exam booklets. Enter your last & first name and darken circles in the correct order (last name, first name). No extra time will be allowed. We will strictly enforce the time limit. I write exams so that students should finish comfortably within the 75 min allotment. Do not overthink or dwell on a particular Q. However, please read the Qs & options carefully so that you do not miss important words. You must enter responses on scantrons within the 75 min allotment. You may not have extra time to enter responses. Advice: Enter responses as you answer Qs, not at the end. You are much more likely to enter responses that you intended if you enter them 1 by 1. Exam 3 will be approximately the same length as Exam 2. Expect approximately 44 Qs. Questions will have 2 (a & b) to 4 (a-d) multiple choice options. Be careful when you darken circles on scantrons (e.g., If your answer is “the last one,” that could be b, c, or d). Only answers on scantrons will be considered, not answers on test booklets. All Qs will have the same weight. You may have nothing on your desk other than your exam booklet, scantron, and a #2 pencil. You must bring a #2 pencil. Do not place any of these items on the adjacent desk. Protect your work. Everyone should keep their eyes on their work. If you see wandering eyes that we miss, alert us at once. All notes and course materials must be on the floor in closed bookbags. Mute all electronics and place them in closed bookbags. You may not wear a ball cap or a smart watch on exam days. You may not leave the classroom or leave your seat during the exam period. If you have a Q, I will come to you. Ideally you will be seated in the front row, last row, or at the end of a row. However, please limit your Qs to only those that are absolutely necessary to avoid disrupting your classmates’ concentration. No one may ask Qs during the last 5 min of the time allotment. You must submit the exam booklet (print your full name on it) and scantron in the front of the classroom before you leave room 121. Do not remove the staple from the test booklet. If you tend to finish exams quickly, choose a seat in the front row, last row, or near the end of a row to allow classmates to remain focused when you leave. If you finish before the time allocation ends, you may leave. _____ Review your responses to prep Qs for lecture articles of section 3. If you did not answer the prep Qs as you read articles and prior to lecture, write answers to the prep Qs as you study. Lists that follow may not be exhaustive of key concepts. Some content is hard to represent with terms. Memorizing definitions of terms is insufficient preparation for any assessment of knowledge and understanding. Use your responses to the prep Qs that accompanied the journal articles as study tools. Hopefully, you wrote answers to those Qs as you read the articles and before the relevant lectures. See also course pack, p. 105-123. Lab material that is relevant to Exam 3. I also covered much of this content in lecture. 1. Writing a Title, Introduction, Method, & References of a proposal 2. Representations of designs in tables or figures if the study was experimental, quasi-experimental, or correlational 5. Moderator & mediator 8. Deciding which method is appropriate: Experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational 9. Deciding which design is appropriate if study is experimental or quasi-experimental and has two factors: Between groups, within-subjects, mixed with factor1 between groups, mixed with factor1 within- subjects – Sources include Course pack, p. 142-144, 163-165; Canvas, Week 4.
