The patient is prescribed selegiline, Why is it important to assess the patient’s mood and teach the patient to use the same pharmacy for all prescriptions?a. Important b/c a lot of adverse effects can change their mood drastically, and their mood can be a precipitating factor to whether or not they will comply with treatment.b. Use the same pharmacy b/c they have the PT’s records, and they won’t change the drug brand on the person, which could cause severe adverse effects. Comfortable with the pharmacist. They are consistent in their dosage amounts. The pharmacist also knows what other meds you’re taking.3. What teaching should the nurse provide about the possible adverse effects of selegiline?a. This drug can cause hallucinations, confusion, dizziness, fainting, insomnia, urges (sexual, gambling), vivid dreams,and nausea.b.
