Compare and contrast the different approaches through those lesson plans. Part of that analysis should involve making explicit the underlying assumptions about language acquisition and considering the pros/cons of the approach given what you know about learning. (vi) As part of microteaching and curriculum development project write a lesson/unit that integrates strategies that seem congruent with what you are learning about language acquisition and learning. Build in pre-assessment and post assessment. (vii) Video tape this teaching. Check with teacher/school about getting any necessary permission (have you already done this for content literacy?). Identify your goal for the lesson and the distinguishing characteristics of the language learning approach/method you were using. Watch video to see how you enacted the approach/method. Identify 1-25 minute clips that you find interesting/puzzling given what you are learning about foreign language methods. Share the clips and your analysis with me.(viii) Present/write a rationale for which of all the approaches you’ll experiment with furtherin your teaching and why.Week Reading
