was published in May 2013 previous editions of the textbook including the original 7th edition with a 2013 copyright contain outdated and incorrect information Furthermore the order and titles of the combination of multiple choice items as well as several integrative essay questions If a religious holiday conflicts with an examination date you may request an alternative exam administration Grading Each student can accumulate a maximum of 300 points during the course 100 points for each of 3 exams Although students are encouraged to participate in Psych Department studies extra credit will not Extra Credit You may earn a maximum of 16 extra credit points in two ways 1 participation in Psychology Department research studies or 2 participation in Discussion and Review sessions associated with Psychology 380 You may combine points from these options up to a maximum of 16 extra credit points which will be added to the sum of your 3 exam scores Research Participation For instructions on how to participate in Psychology Department research studies including creating your online account and tracking your total number of extra credit points please access the SONA experiment tracking website maintained by the Psychology Department http psych umass edu undergraduate sona humansubjects You may earn one point for every half hour of research participation prior to December 10th Alternatively you can participate in the longer Psych Department Prescreen for 2 extra credit points which is available during September The SONA experiment tracking website will keep track of your points which will be submitted to the Grad TA electronically at the end of the semester Discussion and Review Session Participation You may also earn extra credit points for participating in discussion review sessions which will be held at least 6 times per week at either 5 00 6 00 or 7 00 8 00 PM These sessions will begin the week of September 14th During these meetings Undergraduate Teaching Assistants will facilitate discussions and reviews of lectures and reading assignments for that week At the end of each session a 2 point quiz will be administered and earned points will be added to your cumulative score for the semester maximum of 2 points per week and no more than 16 points for the entire semester Extra credit points will not be awarded for sessions held on the days immediately before an examination i e Sept 29 30 Oct 27 28 Dec 1 2 Posting of Grades Grades will be posted on Moodle following each exam If you have any disputes about your grades it is very important that you
