What is media strategy Why should your media strategy mirror your marketing strategy How does your target market s media consumption affect the strategy Media strategy is how the messages will be delivered to consumers or target markets Media strategy involves identifying the characteristics of the target market which will receive the message and identifying which outlets of media to use to send the messages with the intention of influencing the behavior of the target with the product or service Marketing strategy is the planning of the marketing actions to solve the major problem and taking advantage of the opportunities in the market target market Overall marketing strategy is the action to sell the product and goal to obtain competitive advantage from the competitors Therefore the media strategy needs to mirror the marketing strategy Media strategy is a service function of the marketing and selling Media strategy should not only support the marketing strategy plan but also identify and influence consumer in the marketplace The target market s media consumption affects the strategy by determining how many times the company should run the ads In addition the company must research what media outlets are read by most of the targeted market For instance if a company finds out magazine A and B is mostly read by the company s targeted market but the company decides to run a quarterly ad in magazine C and D The result is going to be negative because they went against what the target market reads Therefore the target market s media consumption affect the strategy by if the company achieves the expected results of brand education awareness and trial through using media outlets
