Course Objective: Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:1. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills;2. Students are expected to attend all classesand be on time for such classes. In any course, a student who is absent a total of sessions (class meetings) which arescheduled per week will be required to confer with the instructor. Continued absence from regularly class sessionsmay result in failure. Students with excessive absences will be referred to a counselor. Attendance is part of thefinal grade evaluation.A student is responsible for any material or assignment presented in his/her absence and should makearrangements with another student to copy notes. The lecture will not be repeated in the instructor’s office.A student will be considered absent at the discretion of the instructor based on behavior or classroom etiquettedeemed inappropriate (as listed at the bottom).Incomplete: A grade of Incomplete (I) is assigned only when a student has completed 75% of assigned coursework with a grade of C or better. To remove the incomplete, the student must complete all course requirements. Ifall course requirements are not satisfied after six months, the original “I” grade will be recorded as an “F”Examination: All examinations must be taken when scheduled. In the event of an illness or unexpectedemergency, the student must provide the instructor with a suitable documentation. Approval of documentation is atthe instructor’s discretion. Upon approval, the missed examination must be taken within 2 class periods. Failure totake the examination within the time period will result in a grade of zero for the examination.Unless explicitly stated otherwise all examination are closed book, and without the use of notes of any kind.Students who violate any of rule of examination will result receive a grade zero for the examination and may fail thecourse.-Copying-Talking or whispering-Use of any electronic device-Use of notes-Alteration of answer(s) for the purpose of re-grading-Any other behavior deemed inappropriateHomework: All homework assignments must be completed and submitted on time. Homework assignments willnot be accepted after the due date unless a documented emergency or illness existed.Plagiarism: Any assignment that duplicates, in form, logic or essence, any other student’s assignment will begiven a zero grade. Student assignments are an individual effort of each student to solve an assigned problem. Youmay seek advice from your classmates but your assignments should not be duplicate their answer, summary, oranalysis. Classroom etiquette that are deemed inappropriate: - Talking during lectures - Chewing gum, eating, or drinking noisily- Creating disturbances- Wearing hats- Obvious yawning- Slouching in seats- Putting feet on desks or tables- Sleeping - Cutting class- Acting bored or apathetic- Not paying
