Saltworks (Salines) of Chaux- Located at Arc-Et-Senans- Architect: Claude-Nicholas Ledoux- Commissioned to design a saltwork factory with workers’ living community- Original circular in plan but only half was fully built- Salt was a royal monopoly; very expensive- The director’s house is in the middle of the semicircular i.
