For example, in India, Hindi is the official language, English has a special constitutional status and 22 other languages have constitutional statuses. This is confusing to people. In the United States it allows people to move here from another country and not have an excuse to learn English. On the other hand, it is not always a problem. Multilingualism gives our country more personality and culture. Also, the more languages a person knows, the more people he/she can communicate
