Particular attention is givento new millennium maps for successful ministry.COURSE OBJECTIVES1. To examine and apply the New Testament patterns and principles of developing vibrantevangelistic ministries in the local church. 2. To understand how to develop a compass driven ministry in the face of adversity andcalamity. 3. To analyze and apply dynamic communication techniques for life-changing presentations ofthe gospel to secular audiences. 4. To examine the sociological, technological, financial, and ministerial trends in the NorthAmerican context for the purpose of developing effective pastoral and evangelistic ministries. 5. Focus onthe content of the presentations, impressions, questions, and possible answers orconclusions.2. Read all required textbooks in their entirety and submit a reading report identifying thetotal number of pages read in each book.3. Write a five to eight page reflection paper on the conference in view of the requiredreading. How did the readings relate to what you learned in the various sessions of theconference? What insights did you gain that may contribute to your present or futureministry? (Follow writing guidelines from #4). No bibliography required. 4. Prepare a twelve to fifteen page theological analysis on the ministry gifts in Ephesians4:11-16, with extensive attention given to the roles of the evangelist and the pastor. Pageseight and nine will consist of specific applications to your present or future ministry.Research for this paper should consist of other sources than just the required textbooks.A minimum of 750 additional pages should be consulted. The following should beconsidered when preparing the paper: (1) logical development, (2) clarity, (3) NO directquotations longer than 3-4 lines, and (4) careful proofreading to eliminate mechanicalPTHE 640 Evangelism Theology and PracticeJames DavisPage 3errors and typos. All papers must be typed according to Turabian 6th edition. Inclusivenotes are to be used instead of footnotes. The last page is to consist of a bibliography.5. Prepare a five to eight page analysis of Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost throughthe lens of Davis’ evangelistic preaching paradigm. Include the biblical and culturalcontext for his sermon. Follow guidelines in #2 regarding the writing of the paper. Nobibliography required.DUE: All course work should be postmarked no later than April 19, 2002.Submit all completed work to:Dr. James O.
