IsotopesOutline of Current Lecture I. Planetary SystemsA. Solar NebulaB. Protoplanetary DisksC. AccretionII. Five Essential Things to do in SpaceIII. Theory of Solar SystemCurrent Lecturel.Clouds in space have hydrogen in them and scientists believe it was formed right afer the Big Bang. The Sun is about the same age as the Solar System 4.6 billion years. In our solar system there are inner and outer planets. Inner planets are terrestrial and include Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Outer planets are Jovian or gaseous and include Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.A. A solar nebula is a cloud of gas and dust from which the Sun and the rest of the solar system is formed. B. The gravitational attraction between various parts of solar nebula causes it to contract and rotate faster and faster until it flattens out into a disk. Protoplanetary disks are disks of material encircling a protostar or newborn star.C. Accretion is the coming together of smaller pieces of matter to form larger ones. Planetesimal is a primordial asteroid like object from which the planets accreted. These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. GradeBuddy is best used as a supplement to your own notes, not as a substitute.ll.The 5 essential things to do in space are monitor Earth’s climate, prepare asteroid defense, seek out new life, explain the genesis of planets like Jupiter, and break out of the Solar System.lll.The theory of the Solar System should explain how planets orbit in planes close to the ecliptic, how planets revolve around the Sun in the same direction as Sun’s rotation, how planets rotate in the same direction as their orbits around the Sun besides Venus and Uranus, how planetary orbits are almost circular besides Mercury, how smaller rocky planets are nearer to the Sun and larger gaseous planets are further, and how gas giants have ring
