An issue is brought to your attention that one of your employees is being rude to fellow teammates. How will you handle the complaint(s)? If you have dealt with this type of situation in the past and can share the story, please do.First and foremost, I would have to determine if the incident was an isolated incident or if thissituation has been on-going. If the incident was an isolated incident, then I would talk to the employee who was the aggressor and try to determine why the incident occured, such as having a bad day or if there was some type of frustration. If the incident was an on-going incident, I would conduct an investigation and talkto the employee who was being rude (aggressor), the employee who was on the receiving end (bullied), and possible a third employee who would be close to the location of the incident who may have heard, seen or been on the receiving end as well. All along, I would explain that the situation is confidentialand that the expectation is that all employees involved would keep all matters pertaining to this situation as confidential. An example is an on-going situation of two employees who were bullying a third employee.Employee #1 (was a woman) was being rude and bullying an colleague (employee #2, who was a male). Employee #2 approached their supervisor because he could no longer deal with the situation, it was becoming too difficult for him to maintain by himself. Employee #3 (a woman) also bullied employee #2. After concluding an investigation, employee #1 and employee #3 said they were inpatient and frustrated by employee #2. As the outcome of this situation, all three employees were asked to have lunch together, so they could talk about the situation and work it out. During this lunch, employee #1 & employee #2 had to acknowledge their behavior and why they were behaving this way and agree to not conduct themselves in this manner any longer. Employees #1 & #2 were asked to stop this behavior, apologize and to get along. This lunchoccured three weeks ago and I have not heard anymore regarding this situation.Response 2I would have to think about this one, but if someone is being rude to a fellow teammate I would have to check the handbook and not only that I would have to rely on the core values that the organization has established. At least one of those should be to respect each other you fellow employees at all times and conduct yourself in a manner that is respectful. I would handle the complaint by pulling the employee to the side and speaking with the individual and reminding them of the organizations core values. Secondly, I would gather information pertaining to the issue from others so that I could get a clear understanding of thesituation and allow the individual a chance to explain his or her actions and attitude. Be mindful, that there could be repercussions if his or her attitude does not change, and his or heractions will not be tolerated within the
