Week 5 checkpoint There are several internet options available in today s educational tools You have a local cable company that has high speed internet and then there are wireless modems that can run several computers at once I think a requisition for either to the principal for either is the first step In our local schools the cable company provides free cable and internet services So requisitioning for a multi port wireless modem from the principal would be first who would then in turn send it to the district office district superintendant and last the district school board for approval I don t believe it would need to go any farther Once the modem was acquired a call to the local cable company or any provider of wireless networks would be all that is needed If the computers were too old and needed to be upgraded or replaced I would first find a source or company willing to donate or contribute to the cost of the computers Many companies would do so in order to obtain a tax write off Once I found the computers I would inform the principal that I had a company willing to help provide my classroom with the computers If a company only provided part of the funds I might request to have a fund raiser to get the rest of the money
